Exporting invoicing data

You can download your invoices as a CSV file to share with your accountant, import into bookkeeping software, or review in a spreadsheet. Follow the steps below to export invoices for a date range.

Before you begin

You will need the View invoices permission. If you do not see the Export CSV button, ask an admin in your organization.

Step 1: Open the export window

  1. Click Invoices in the top navigation.
  2. Click Export CSV at the top right of the page.

The Export invoices window opens.

Step 2: Choose a date range

Select one of the following:

  • Last 3 months
  • Last 12 months
  • YTD (Year-to-date) — from January 1 of the current year to today.
  • Custom range — enter a Start date and an End date. The start date must be on or before the end date.

The range is based on each invoice's invoice date (issue date), not the date it was sent or paid. All ranges end today, in your organization's time zone.

Note. The export ignores any search, status filter, or sort you have applied on the Invoices page. It always includes every invoice dated within the range, including drafts, scheduled, and void invoices.

Step 3: Download the file

Click Export CSV. Your browser downloads a file named for the range and end date, for example invoices-export-3mos-2026-10-15.csv.

The file opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers.

What the file contains

The file has one row per line item. If an invoice has three line items, it appears on three rows. Invoice-level details repeat on each of those rows.

Each row includes:

  • Invoice details — invoice number, customer name and email, contact name and email, invoice date, and due date.
  • Line details — description, quantity, rate, and amount.
  • Tax — which taxes apply (GST, PST, or both), GST and PST amounts for the invoice, and each line's rates and tax amounts.
  • Totals and status — invoice total, amount paid, balance due, and status.

The status column uses the same labels you see in the app, such as Draft, Scheduled, Sent, Viewed, Overdue, Paid, and Void. An invoice that is past due shows Overdue even though its underlying status is Sent or Viewed. See Understanding quote and invoice statuses.

Tip. Because invoice totals repeat on every line-item row, do not add up the invoice total column directly. Remove duplicate invoice numbers first, or total the line columns instead.

Common issues

An invoice I expected is missing from the file

Check the invoice's date. The export uses the invoice date, so an invoice dated before the range start is left out even if you sent or were paid for it inside the range. Choose Custom range to widen the dates.

The Product_Service column is empty

ATB Invoicing does not store a separate product or service category, so this column is always blank. The line description is in the Line_Description column.

Can I export quotes or customers?

The export covers invoices only.
